Post-harvest quality of onion bulbs in a controlled environment

The onion bulbs’ post-harvest quality is essential for good commercialization; the longest storage time critical to producer in choosing cultivar. Thus, this work aimed evaluate of bulbs under periods a controlled environment. experiment was installed factorial scheme (6x4), represented by six cultivars (BR29, Itajubá, Mulata, Omega, Rainha, and Salto Grande), evaluated four (40, 80, 120, 160 days), randomized design, with three replications. parameters fresh matter loss, skin strength, bulb firmness, shine, pH, soluble solids, titratable acidity, solids acidity were analyzed. cultivar Grande presented better conservation physical-defined characteristics at temperature, less loss mass matter, more significant maintenance feature acidity. At same time, BR29 showed losses studied attributes had capacity among cultivars.
